The Highfields Lions participate in the AFL Darling Downs junior competitions, these are Youth Football (U12-U14) and Footy4Fun (U8-U10). The season is run from April through to September. The Highfields Lions has participated in these junior AFL competitions since 2003 and in 2023 is aiming to field teams in the U8, U10, U12 and U14 grades.
